The divisions
No single neighborhood map.
Each definition was drawn for a different purpose. The library keeps them separate, cites their sources, and never merges them, so a place can honestly belong to different areas in each.
SFAR realtor · 92 areas. Market areas from the San Francisco Association of Realtors, August 2010. The default.
SF Find · 117 names. General neighborhood locations from the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services, 2006.
Analysis · 41 areas. Reporting areas built from census tracts, which can combine several named places.
Districts · 2002. Redrawn after the 2000 census.
Districts · 2012. Redrawn after the 2010 census.
